FENDER BANDMASTER DELUXE FULL
This LL#code is different than the two letter code stamped on tube charts on earlier Fender amps, and silverface Fender amps don't have that two letter code on their tube charts, at least none that I've ever heard of.Sales Tax : 6% - Sales tax applied to invoice total, including Internet Premium.Ĭonvenience Fee: 3% Participation Requirements: Valid Credit Card required for bidding approval Payment Options: Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Visa MasterCard Discover Payment Instructions: Your credit card will be processed for the full amount of sale immediately following close of the auction (unless PRIOR alternative payment arrangements have been made with Thomas Hirchak Company). These same markings sometimes show up inside the chassis too, but that requires removal of the chassis to see. If there's markings ink-stamped on the exposed pine floor of the cabinet interior, they may be hard to see due to dirt and age, so cleaning the interior bottom of the cabinet with a damp (not drippy wet) rag is helpful, especially if the inside floor of the cab is really dirty.if there's any inked codes there, they'll show up once the dirt is gone. I'm not sure what the significance of the two letters in front of the four numbers is, maybe it's an inspector code or something similar. These stamped markings aren't uncommon to find inside early Silverface Fender amps (they're in Blackface Fender amps, too), and the four numbers can give you the number of the week (i.e., 13=13th week) and the last two numbers of the year, so an amp that was stamped on the 13th week of 1967 would have '1367' for the numbers. CBS-era Fender was known for using earlier AB763 tube charts on the AB568 amps, to use up the old tube charts (they were frugal like Leo if not even more so), especially since the tube compliment was the same on either version.Įdited to add: Also, look inside the cab and see if there's any ink-stamped markings (IIRC, two letters followed by four numbers, or just four numbers) on the floor of the cabinet interior, and/or on the bottom outer surface of the chassis, these inked numbers can help find an approximate date of manufacture for the amp.and if the date code is earlier than May 1968 (which is what the '568' stands for in 'AB568'), then odds are good that the circuit will be a AB763 circuit. Just because the tube chart says AB763 doesn't actually mean that it is, especially on a drip-edge SF Fender amp.

Also, if possible and the present owner will let you, check inside the amp to make sure that there's no big (they're at least an inch long) rectangular tan-colored components (capacitors, I think) coming off of the power tube sockets, as this might indicate a AB568 circuit. See if you can get the price down based on the SF cosmetics, those silver faceplates don't take use and abuse well either. The Bandmaster is handwired, so there's that for easy maintenance (no trying to fix or jumper printed circuit board traces), but I remember when SF and even BF Bandmaster heads were $500 all day long. Like gtrdaddy said, no ribbon cable crap.
